from what i saw in the computer system, seems like EVERY Houston store received 4 this past week.

the sku on this printer is 146-981

We already had one lady call every store in Houston to hold one for her... dunno if she actually came to get them.

Realizing I'll be at (or on the phone with) my local OD at 10:00am sharp regardless, do you have any idea if this is going to be a "national" deal? I know the OD near me had an 1100xi on display last week (wish I could remember if/how many boxes were there...).

Also, is there anyway to check/reserve stock _tonight_?

I just know there's going to be about 10 anxious looking people standing outside every OD tomorrow... Probably ought to wear Anandtech arm bands or something.

Just a quick note: I read up about this printer and it doesn't appear to be exactly a model of "HP Quality" (at least HP hopes it isn't). It seems there are a lot of people complaining about paper jams and misfeeds after 1 year / 3000 prints. (CNET Review)

That said, for under $100, it's still a pretty great deal. (Thanks ODguy)

Jeez you're right about them being dumped on E*ay. Found 66 of them from one guy. The idiot has 1/2 of them with an initial bid of $438 and the other half with an initial bid of 1 cents but with a reserve (probably of $438 ). So far the highest bid he has is $55. Hope he chokes on them!

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to mention I just got through to someone at OD here in Houston & even though they aren't yet open (9am) he went ahead & checked the sku for me.

He said they didn't have any (OD at Kirby & OST) & didn't know if any other Houston stores would have them b/c some were supposed to get shipments and some would not.

Anyway, he also mentioned that corporate is supposed to fix the price on this today b/c it should be $299. (it still showed as $89.99 when I called though)
