I've gotten ~10 hours from mine in real world use without putting any serious effort into getting the most run time out of it. I think it is officially rated for 13-14 hours and I''ve seen a couple of reviewers manage close to that so I think it's fair to say the x220 has roughly double the battery life of the MBP 13.

Dang, that is significant. I see people write 'significant' and I find that a lot of the time they mean something like 30-60 minutes or something. But double... that's no joke. The 9 hours on the 9 cell would be a significant step up as well.

If all a person wants is Windows, then that is a tough thing to beat. 12" is about as large a screen as I would want with 1366*768 display. With the IPS that is definitely a plus.

I still conclude that the macbook pro is still the best overall laptop: best quality, design, and battery life... not the best price...

Really 10 hours? Wow I never knew they had such long life.... I always thought their main draw was their ips screen. I'm actually starting to consider getting one now.... I recently just missed out on a price error for a free upgrade to i7 =(

I would get one if it had the backlit keyboard.. typing in the dark, it really helps out! (Yes I do type in the dark a lot)

I've had a ton of Windows laptops in the past couple of years. The best one i've had so far is my Envy 15. Since I use it as my main machine, I use it with a notebook mouse and have the 1080p screen. I was really itching for a MBP, but for the price by spec it was a way out of my budget.
