HP DVD-RW Problems

I've got an HP DVD 100i and when reading certain CDs it seems to take a long time to recognize them; sometimes up to a minute or more.

I havn't tried to burn any DVDs or CDs, but have only noticed the problem when installing and trying to read regular CD-roms. Has anyone else had this problem or know why this happens?

I have a Sony DVD+RW drive which is a clone of that HP one (actually, they're both clones of a 3rd party one). I haven't noticed that problem and have read plenty of CD's and CD-R's. You may want to call HP.
