HP DV9000 Part number GW910av - Problems

hello

I have a DV9000 HP laptop part number GW910Av

3 items work sometimes ( Sound card ) ( web cam ) ( DVD Burner ) mostly off then on

Tonight I ran windows updates and the sound and DVD burner are on for now. The web cam showed in Device manager but when I ran youcam software it stated USB device not recognized. Then I rechecked in device manager the web cam was no longer listed.

All 3 devices have done this for quite some time be on 1 minute and gone the next. My 3 USB ports have always worked fine without any problem and are still working with no errors.

In device manager under USB I have 2 unknown devices??? Not sure what that means

Any idea what may be causing this is really appreciated.. Thanks 🙂

I also forgot that when the sound is out, the icon is still on the task bar but has a red circle through it like it is muted, The sound is out but will do system beeps through the speakers. As stated above the Sound is working for now..

Update:

I turned the laptop off and now the sound is off again: The speaker icon in the task bar is there but has a red X next to it - When I put the mouse over it it says: No Audio Output device is installed

I am lost.. Not sure what is up with this thing

The DVD Burner is working normal
The web cam isnt showing up either as of yet

hmm you tried drivers and fresh install and its still not working.

try finding a backup recovery disk for that series and isntall chipset drivers and anything you can to see if that gets rid of the problem if not. that HP is dead anyways.

i never liked HP laptops their superlowbudget pieces of junk that. netbook or a different brand is the way to go.
