I am trying to troubleshoot an HP Pavilion dv7-6b55dx for a friend so I don't know what happened to it first hand.
I can't be 100% sure it is not a hardware problem though, however I did run a live Linux USB though and I was able to connect to websites so I guess the card is good??)
The laptop runs Windows 7 Home Premium
I have tried pretty much everything (Except reloading Windows or replacing the WiFi card which is an Intel 6150)
I tried drivers and all of the DHCP settings are correct.
it says connected and internet access but it will not connect to any website at all even Firefox will not connect and I cannot even access the router settings page at 192.168.1.1 I looked and it gets a internal IP address but the external (WAN) IP cannot be found
Does anyone have an idea of what to try next? I am out of ideas other then reloading Windows
Thanks
