HP DESKJET 970CXI 12/10PPM 600DPI 4MB DUPL PAR USB-98&MAC PCL3E $225. In stock. Here's the link:

https://www.infinity-micro.com/infm...1532364&key=special&cat1=0&cat2=0

I have been looking for a good printer and this is the best deal I could find. Does anyone know of any differences between this and the 970CSE? When you click on the 970CSE link on HP's site, you get the information for the 970CXI and this is better than I can get the 970 CSE doing a Staples PM + coupon deal.

(My first deal post - any suggestions or deal posting tips appreciated.)

cxi and cse are basically the same. cxi was sold mainly on the net.
cse was sold in store everywhere

I own a cxi and I love it very much.

print quiet and fast. Paid about $400 six months ago. :(

and it print double-side and 2400dpi on photo paper.

Note: Did anyone bought from this company? Is the shipping expensive? Refurbished?

this is strange also:
ALL PRICES SHOWN ARE CASH / LEASE DISCOUNTED. ANY OTHER PAYMENT TYPES WILL RECEIVE OUR REGULAR PRICES

I bought on a 970CSE from Staples.com for my dad for x-mas, does anyone think I can get the difference rebated at this point?

Just a thought... would probably be worth the $75 to check...

The 970CSE is out of stock and is priced at $251, so I don't think Staples would price match even if it was closer to the date you purchased. My understanding is the model has to be the same and it has to be in stock at both their site and the one you want them to price match with.

I'll call this company and see if a CC order will get the 970CXI for $225, or is there an additional "fee". Anyone done business with them? They are not listed at Reseller Ratings, but they are Cnet certified. Computers.com is where I found this deal.

I just contacted them and they said check or COD gets the advertised price. CC orders have a 3% surcharge, so the price would be $231.75. It is still a decent deal, but I think I might wait and see what I can find at a company that is a little more straight forward. They also have a 20% restocking fee, but do have a 3 star rating from Gomez on CNET.

I used to live in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and this practice to increase the price when using a CC is common. They are essentially passing the CC surcharge onto the customer. This tells us how tight their margins really are.

i made a new thread about the DeskJet970Cse at staples. it involved a pricematch at #232, but if you can find it at $225, use that to save an extra $7.

heres the link to the other thread:

nobody ever replied to it...not sure why, this is an AWESOME printer....and i know 3 other people from HardWareCentral who did this besides me.....so it should work.....

Could you please send me the email you refered to in your linked post about the 970CSE Staples match. My email is wcs@thewebbs.net. That would make a pretty sweet deal if I can swing it, $185+tax would put this printer under $200. Thanks for the idea. I've been trying to figure out a Staples PM + coupon deal on this for a while.
