HP Color Laser Multifunction

shortylickens

No Lifer
As of Monday morning, May 26th, this item is going for $349.99. Normally $700. I will edit this thread if it changes or if somebody discovers its bogus.

Normally I dont post in Hot Deals, I usually just come in and read and cry about all the cool stuff I cant have.

But this puppy was just too good to keep to myself.

Its the HP color laser CM1017 multifunction.
Weighs about 48 pounds, which is light for something like this.
Only has a 250 sheet tray and monthly capacity of 1500 sheets. For an office printer its mediocre.
For home office this thing rocks, (assuming this 50% instant rebate is for real).

I dont need it, but I want it.

EDIT:
Free standard shipping, which is nice for something this big and heavy, but no cable. 🙁

Very nice deal!
If I didn't have a B&W laser multifunction and color laser.. I would be all over this one!
Thanks OP

Nice. Looks like $300 to change all the inks, that about standard for this type of printer?

Dont pay retail for toner from the manufacturer. Thats really where most of their money comes from.
Go someplace online and get them for 50-66% off MSRP.

Lazer cartridges are a bit pricier, but compared to the HP Officejet J6480, I was considering till i saw this hot dea....thanx Op.
Ink for the HP Officejet J6480 is 30.00(black) but prints roughly 750 pages compared to this Lazer, 75.00 that'll print roughly 2000 pages, which makes it about the same.
Don't know if i should pull the trigger on this.

What other places do you use for HP ink. The couple I've heard about for remanufactured get mediocre reviews for the most part and no one seems to discount the OEM oines.

Although if it was wireless network capable I'd probably have already bought it. Wonder if the EPP site has it any cheaper.

Damn good deal. Is this a one-pass type color laser, or one which has to rotate the color printheads around in a circle? We have a multi-pass color laser at work, and it's very noisy and takes a while to print.

I can't answer your question for certain as I don't know much about the inner workings of lasers, but one of the newegg reviews mention these print cartridges were easy to replace because they were all inline and not on a revolving cyclinder, which I think is what you are asking.

wow....this is networkable too? If so...is it that stupid networkable printing only or is everything on it networkable?

EPP pricing on this is $279.

I really do not much about pricing on this kind of printers. But if $349 is hot, $279 is scalding.

how did you get epp pricing?

I think you have to qualify through Government, Health & Education sector or if they have an individual agreement with your organization. I can't find a direct link, so here is Google:

Either you are not on their EPP site or are not logged in.

Just bought, and to make it a little hotter if you also buy a black toner cart ($68) at the same time, there is a $20 IR and a $20 MIR making the first black replacemnt cart only $28.

Is the EPP pricing restricted to HP employees? I'm stuck at the "company code" when registering. If someone could PM me a valid code I'd be much obliged.
