You can get the rebate, if you read what some of the guys are doing on the older forum. Apparently they are printing out a fake receipt (illegally) and submitting that. If your sense of ethics allow it, you can get another 50 off. My friend just sold the burner at about 100, so 50 buck rio with free cdrs ain't such a bad deal.

that's right there were a few issues with this deal. The Order Confirmation doesn't "list" the Rio. So it's a toss-up whether Rio will accept [I added whatever document. could find]. Also issue of whether Rio would ship in retail box w/UPC well yes it did.

Despite the misconception you get to choose colors at compusa, they only have gray, same as HP, so get it from HP. they all come in retail boxes. I got mine at compusa b&m 2 days ago, because I didn't want to wait from hp who mistakenly charged my credit card twice and still having some disputes with them. I know its just me, but I don't really want to deal with them anymore. Even though I paid more, this incident inspired me to repeatedly raid office depot. So I probably broke even.
