HP Cameras to come with 'in camera slimming feature' take off 10 lbs . . . ummm ok

wow...i sure as hell hope this doesnt get big...that just looks like a stupid gimic to me, but I guess I wouldnt be surprised if it gets popular...
 
Canon, Pentax, and Nikon are working on things like in-camera IS, dust-off vibration, greater dynamic range, etc.

This is America, most people have no idea what dynamic range, or dust off vibration is. Most people do have 10-300 pounds they could lose though.

Haha, so HP's idea isn't even original. I'm not saying the feature's worthless, just that I think manufacturors should work on other, more important things before going the, uh, slim filter route, which Pentax seems to have done.
 
They are marketing to an increasingly over weight world (yes world, not just the US).

And marketing to people's desires and insecurities works.

I say it's brilliant. Sad, but brilliant.

Well from a features point of view it's a relatively low cost feature, just a small software change to implement.
