Saw this at the Seattle Frys. If I tried to build this myself it would cost ALOT more than this, plus you get 24/7 service with it.

The model number is A810N.

Here is the link to the Frys ad in Seattle, it is in the upper left corner.

If you know someone that needs a computer upgrade for around 600 bux, this system is hard to beat for the money.

that comp is sh1t]

rips you off really bad and gives you crap

edit: nothing bad towards you, i'm just angry that these manufacturers trying to rip people off

Yeah its crap for a enthusiast like me or you, but for someone like my dad that wants to browse the web, and occasionally play solitare, well this computer wouldnt be bad.

I did some research on that athlon 64 3300, they nerfed some L2 cache and pumped the cpu clock up to compensate. Its all about AMD's naming scheme, they call it a 3300 based on equivalency.

Lets see if I can beat it with pricewatch.

192.00 Athlon 64 3400 (754)
109.00 DFI Lanparty NF3 (754)
50.00 Random PC3200 DDR
80.00 WD 160GB HD SATA
45.00 BenQ DVD+/-RW DW800A
10.00 Modem
10.00 Floppy
80.00 Windows XP Home (to be legal and stuff)
31.00 Cheap Aluminum ATX case
25.00 Keyboard and Mouse (guessing)
50.00 Geforce 4 TI 4200
682.00 Total

Yeah ok this deal is crap for most of us.

Also, for Web browsing, why do you need the power. It will never be used. 🙁

I was going to say this isn't too bad of a deal until I saw it uses a SiS chipset with crummy graphics and seems to be a S754. If you look at the PDF specs, the CPU gets the "3300+" rating from only having 256KB L2 cache.

I'll offer something equal from pricewatch (yeah, i saw your list vanionBB 😛):
$72 Asus K8S-MX (SiS760GX, sound, video, lan, etc)
$187 Athlon 64 3200+ retail
$50 generic PC3200
$65 Seagate 160GB 7200RPM
$6 6-in-1 3.5" card reader
$50 Benq DW822A w/software
$35 non-ugly case & PSU
$20 Logitech keyboard and optical mouse
$80 WinXP Home
-----
$565 for basically the same junk, no rebates and no tax

Plus you can overclock this one (good idea to get better memory if you do).

Apparently you guys don't count your time and hassle. I've built plenty of PCs for my company, and as it stands now, buying something like this is hands down better than building right now. Plus, if something doesn't work just take it back to the store. I'm talking about non-gaming PCs obviously.

I imagine the cost on the computer parts alone is probably $450-500. So $600 for the time and money it takes to put it together, QC it, install software, and package it up is not a bad deal for the average consumer who doesn't have the knowledge and\or time to build their own machines.

it really isnt a bad deal. i got 1 for 599.99 at circuit city last week and it's plenty fast. besides, the software bundle includes as well as the support is worth some too.
