(inspired by CellarDoor's tomato brisket 7hr crockpot thread)

Tomato Paste Basil, Garlic and Oregano 6oz

pour tomato paste into small pan + let simmer. then add cubed beef. then add 1 onion (chopped).

the simmering tomato paste will cook the beef + onion.

done in 8-10min.

How do you think it'll turn out? (will try it this weekend)

Should i just buy a jar of speghetti sauce instead? (25oz vs 6oz for the same price :Q)

I'd add some hot sauce, mushrooms, the paste is going to be thick so you might want to add some tomato sauce, pinch of salt, pepper. Tons of cheese.

so speghetti sauce would be better than paste?

everyone says freshly prepared sauce from paste is much better than canned sauce... i havent tasted any in either method that was really brilliant so for simplicity is just mix ground beef with canned sauce

as for preparing your own, you have almost unlimited latitude to be liberal with the fixin... dont just put onions.. throw in some mushrooms.. add salt, pepper, garlic (or powder), thyme, etc.. sprinkle on some parsley at the end
