i have suffered from depression and anxiety my entire life... whatever, it is what it is people have their problems 🙂

when I was a kid I had ADHD, i would run around and beat up other kids (up until I was about 5-6), not sit still, etc. it went away and it has come back and progressively gotten worse and worse along with my anxiety and depression (it's hard to get out of bed in the morning but i can't keep my mind focused on anything lol)

anywhoo...

he claims to be a cowboy and believes that these matters should be knocked out instead of treated, so he puts me on this regiment:

20 mg cymbalta
10 mg lexapro
200 mg provigil

now, it's been a few weeks since i started this, let me say, i feel like a million bucks. i no longer need 8-9 hours of sleep a night (and I actually feel awake during the day)... I get work done without being distracted by everything, my social anxiety is worlds better, and I have an overall calmer and kinder disposition (or so says the people around me (gf, parents, etc)

anyway...

im sure there are people out there who say medicine shouldn't be used in situations like this... well id counter by saying that anxiety, depression and adhd are nothing more than a disease, akin to diabetes, cancer and the like... and can be medically treated... you wouldn't object to medication if you were diagnosed with diabetes, why would you if you are diagnosed with anxiety/depression or ADHD? Just because it's a "newer" discovery as a physical disease does not discount it 🙂

The inevitable question is, once your prescriptions run out, are you gonna go back to being how you were?

hey, if it works for you.... it works for you.

i don't object to people taking anti-depressants, but i think they are prescribed to some people unnecessarily as an easy way out or a quick fix.

what tests do they do to diagnose your problems?
blood tests? or brain tests? or is it subjective?

Usually it is just tons of questions where you rate something from 1-5. So basically, it is pure BS as it is near impossible to self-diagnose yourself.

Are you on regular blood tests? I'm not a doctor, but all that stuff has got to have an effect on your insides.

Great news that it's working for you. Best of luck.

Physically I had an FMRI, the doctor said that the results may or may not show anything, but I took pages and pages of tests and questionnaires (the diagnostic took me over 5 hours), according to my gf who is a pharmacist that since the disease is in its infancy that the best way is through questionnaires 🙂

EDIT: I also took a blood test before the meds, and the two week blood tests came back fine, im taking another after 4, 8 and 12 🙂
