How's this for a 3DMark05 score?

I guess '05 is irrelevant now that '06 is out. I already posted my '06 score and I'm bored. 😀

I think I was getting around 8300 with my 7800 GTX.

That is actually quite "meh" considering an X1800XT gets 9000+. I'd be expecting more from 200% more shader pipes. IMHO.

I'm sorry, that may have come of a bit harsh. Don't worry, ATI will have newer drivers for all those nice shader units to run better. I will improve over time. As per usual.

test it in 06 and work that dual core!

if you OC your CPU u will score higher in 05.

I get about 11,500 with card at stock clocks and an Opteron 165@2.8GHz. That is with image quality set to "High Quality" and no tweaking at all. Brandybuck over at XS gets about 11,900 with card at stock clocks and an FX-60 (might be FX-57).

I'm getting 5300(3dmark05) with my 7800GTX stock. Any ideas of why it could be so low? 6800GT results in 4267 so I'm unclear to why it's so low on my 7800GTX.

I got about 10400 stocked on my x1900xt and so far ocing it i can get as high as 11300.

I think I may be having some issues with mine.

Firstly, the X1900 XTX OC'd to 690/800 with a stock Opteron 170 got me only 10,225 3DMark05 score. Does that sound too low?

Plus, my idle temp always floats around 54 degrees which seems odd, but even with max load, lots of gaming and OPC'ing as mentioned above, temps never go past 74 degrees so far. I see no artifacts etc yet on air cooling, so I'm going to use ATI tool to try and get more from my card.

Not to mention I have to OC my CPU.
Hopefully that'll make some difference.

Would an Opteron 170 on UMPW stepping get to 2.6ghz easily on a Big Typhoon air cooled?
I dont have that much spare time, so do you think it unwise for me to bump up to an FSB that got me around 2.5ghz straight away?

Hmm, I just did the benchmark again, and on everything stock inc Opteron 170 I get only 10,037. Seems a bit low, will OC my CPU and see how much it helps.

Fellas, I think I gots a problem, after readibg this post I thought hey I want to see what I get, I downloaded the free futurmark 05 and I got a score of 8519, here is my machine,

AMD 3500+ (stock)
2g corsair 3200 ram @400
ASUS A8NX5
1900xt stock speeds

shouldnt I be getting a higher score?

Looks like we are both CPU limited.
I'll try again when my CPU's OC'd to 2.6/2.7ghz.

Update: My 7800GTX was bad. Evga sent me a new card and I swapped it and it works fine now. 7753 on a stock run for 3dmark05. Thanks for all everybody's help.

ps. i was also getting a sentinel low power dialog on the old card that I could not get to go away after trying everything.

I got my XTX yesterday and turned 11,680 on 3dMark05. That's at stock speeds with an Opteron 165 @ 2.5 GHz. I was very pleased with that!

Also I don't need a reminder that there are some things my $300 video card can't render well.
