Disclaimer: I am not intentionally trying to brag in any way. I am simply curious. And ignorant
That being said, I made a computer for my brother a couple of days ago - my first one. Hence, I didn't mod, add advanced cooling, or overclock anything in it.
It was a $2100 machine (3 weeks ago - in todays market, probably around $1800
) consisting of a P4 1.7, 256RDRAM, VisionTek gF3, Win98SE and an Asus P4T mobo among other things.
The enlight case that i purchased came with a fan near the bezel for intake, but there is no rear outake fan. The fan on the heatsink is stock intel (upside down i realize now), the fan on the gF3 is stock Visiontek, the fan for the PS is stock enlight (300W ATX12V).
Idle CPU temp is about 35C, 30 for the Mobo (Asus Probe results) after running for at least 10 hrs. I've yet to see it go higher than this, but I've really yet to push the system to its practical limit (suggestions?).
My 3dMark2001 score at 1024 by 7xx resolution (pure hardware D3D) with the 12.41 ref NVidia drivers is about 5800. My Nature demo runs at about a constant 20, the high detail lobby runs about 50-60 range...
How does all of this sound. Since this is not my computer, I want to be handing it over in the best (non-OC'ed) condition to a person who most likely won't be modifying/monitoring settings or adjusting any hardware by himself.
Thank you for any comments / suggestions!
