Hows the Seagate Barracuda IV?

I got a 40GB Cuda IV a few weeks ago.

I was so impressed after hooking it up that I ordered a second one two hours later!

I have problem with the 80GB one. My pc could not find this HD, Even when it found this HD I could only get 11 GB of it (I use Win98se fdisk command to configure it}. I exchange it with new one. Samething still happen. I have use 3 different pc, all of them show same result.
Does anyone have any idea? My main pc is Microstar k7t turbo with RAID on. The 2nd pc is Gigabyte GA-7IXE. I am using W98se.

You need to use the WinME fdisk command, it supports larger disks.

I thought Win98se support larger disks too. And I use Maxtor DiamondMaxPlus 40GB now. It has no problem when I fdisk it.

I've used 4 Seagate Barracuda IV's without a single problem. I highly recommend them.

i have it and i love it! i even have an old 4gb seagate and it still works! so far, ive had very good experiences with seagate. bought a 30gb maxtor last year and it failed after 2 months of use. got it replaced w a 30gb seagate and everythings still smooth.

I think I found the cause & fix for my problem. Here is the link. Fdisk Does Not Recognize Full Size of Disks Larger than 64 GB
Now I should kick myself for the returning those $89 HD.
