Fairly decent. Used to have a couple of dead spots in LV. Last 1-2 years has removed most of it.
Had some problems in a couple of areas in Philli (however all providers had the same issue)

yeah i tried most of the other ones and I wanted to try Verizon now, but they want $1000 deposit.

Sprint PCS also has very good coverage in the distant suburbs, and the rural areas, along expressways.

That is why I left Voicestream. Their coverage was and still is lacking.

This is mostly true, however for $5/month up to half of your minutes can be roaming. When I travel between Omaha, Nebraska and Denver, Colorado I lose Sprint service about 2 hours west of Omaha and don't get it back until about an hour from Denver.

The only reason I'm staying with Sprint is they have the PDA phone I want (Samsung i-500). I'd probably go with AT&T or Verizon if I didn't care what my phone was.

I've also traveled to a fair amount of the country, and the only places with really bad service were rural Indiana and Iowa.

Here in SouthEastern Ohio, there are no good carriers... I'd say that Nextel is very near the top, covering nearly all of the area surrounding my home, whereas Sprint PCS is second, covering a lot of random territory here and there, with no region definition being reliable enough to use. Verizon.... works. Just barely. Occasionally. If John Bob isn't out plowing his fields. Or Suzie Mae isn't cooking using her big skillet.

I can't wait until Nextel and Sprint merge... I'm anxious to see what the results are.

DC is a major metro area and the service sucked here. I switched to Verizon the day I got so mad at Sprint PCS that I threw my Startac down a hallway. To the credit of Motorola the phone did continue to work after that. I would have max signal strength and not be able to carry on a conversation for more than 15 seconds before getting dropped with the message lost signal, call dropped.:|

Riverside, CA and the desert to the east, absolute junk. Cingular rules here. I remember in 2000 I tossed my damn Samsung SCH-3500 and it broke into a few hundred pieces. Either way, not going to get or make any calls.

its great in ann arbor, mi and the entire metro detriot area as well as everyplace ive ever been, im off to mexico tomorrow and i hear its supposed to work there as well......we shall see

BTW, I have sprint with the Sanyo 7400. It's pretty awesome, I switched from Verizon a while back do to reliability problems I was having wtih them.

Service is fine for me in MN and in Chicago, but it sucked in Madison, WI when I was at school. It was because none of the hippies would let sprint put any new towers up because it would ruin the skyline.

Sprint phones are also very expensive. Go to best buy and look. The same phone for sprint costs around $180 and for verizon it's $30.
