Out of curiousity, which mobo and why the RMA? I have heard that newegg is okay on RMA's. Please share your experience, good or bad.

I got a bad video card from them. Had no problem getting a RMA #. Everything went smoothly.

Extremely good.

I RMAed a power supply - they cross-shipped it (!!!), something that not many companies do. I had a full couple of weeks to return the defective one.

Awesome experience.

Very fast! Every component I've returned (I order hundreds a month, so I've had a couple returns...) went a bit like this:

1. Find out the component is busted... DOH!
2. Submit online RMA request
3. Recieve RMA number (usually same day)
4. Ship back to them USPS Priority to save myself money
5. About 3-4 days later they ship the replacement to me...

Newegg is the definitive online store :)

Yep, they are good. Yesterday, I had to RMA three different motherboards and I got RMA numbers very quickly. Just make sure you don't buy refurbished motherboards from them for a while...

Newegg has pretty good RMA. They usually ship it back next day air. Also once i got a refurb Plextor CDRW SCSI and it was terrible condition. I knew they didn't have any left, so they sent me a brand new one! Hows that for customer survice?

someone said something about a full refund, is this true? i thought there was a restocking fee for a refund or even for an exchange.

Yeah i sent back a motherboard and memory a few weeks ago. I was expecting to have to pay a restocking fee but i didnt get charged one. RMA worked great they sent me a confirmation that they got it and a day later it was credited back to my bank card. Everything went smoothly.

Hello

I contacted newegg about RMA'ing a case that was damaged. I contacted via phone instead of filling out the online RMA request (this being my first purchase from newegg i didn't know any better), however, i still recieved the RMA confirmation email.

Anyways, it is my understanding (according to what took place) that one has to pay to ship the item to be replaced to newegg, and they pay to ship a new item back to you. Do you get reimbursed for shipping the item to them? I mean if an item is damaged it doesn't seem right that the customer has to pay to have it replaced. Please let me know. Thank you.

their policy says that the customer has to pay return shipping. I know this is f-cked up, but at least they pay to ship it a second time.

What I would like to know is this:
If you RMA a mobo that you bought new, do they ship you another new one or a refurb? I got a Abit Kr7A-RAID that is bad, I bought it new as a retail product. Are they going to replace mine with a refurb? I sure hope not... anyone got experience in this issue?

Thanks.

I got an Abit KT7A-RAID from newegg, and I couldn't get it working in my system. I may have aggravated the problem by not knowing how to flash my CMOS and trying to do it by switching the jumpers, powering on the computer, waiting a while, then turning off the computer. Anyway, I was able to send it back and got a NEW mobo pretty soon after. That part of the deal went pretty smooth.

cool, I am glad that they replaced your equipment with another new board. I hate it when companies cheat you by replacing the one you bought, which is defective, with something else that someone has turned in as being defective. If I wanted a refurb I would have bought a freakin' refurb to begin with. Is it the customer's fault that the first one they bought happened to be defective? No. Is it the manufacture's fault. Yes. ok, ok... I am a bit bitter, but happy in the end that I will get a brand new board from Newegg.

I am really starting to love Newegg more and more!
