How's this show? I like Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, House of Cards, etc.

Is the show good? Is it too unrealistic or campy or peters out in later seasons?

How is this so unanimous? What happens in S3 that's so bad- did some writers quit or the tone of the show changed?

Can't explain without some major spoilers for the first two seasons. Just take our word for it.

Claire Danes' character is very annoying and over the top. Like others said, the first 2 seasons are worth watching but it's unwatchable after that....at least for me.

I watched and enjoyed the first season and its ending. So many people said it was all downhill from there, so I just treated it like a nice mini-series and quit while I was ahead.

I started watching it years ago and got to I think the beginning of the forth season and kinda lost interest. Looking back, it was a pretty good show but man I was pretty disappointed at the end of season 3.
I really like Damien Lewis and was bummed to see his character go.
The problem is this seems to happen a lot with me (losing interest in shows) for movies and TV shows so take that for what it's worth.

Overall I'd recommend at least trying it. I think I might pick it up from the start again after I get through Sense8 and The Man in the High Castle.

Saw the pilot, gripping enough. Although that flinching fingers on TV is a plain stupid method of communicating - terribly risky.

1st season is a full of episodes that ratchet up the tension, culminating in a finale that had whiplash-inducing climax/ anti-climaxes. Then they set about topping it in S2, and they managed it pretty well : some episodes of S2 were a lot of thrill and sudden action while some others were bordering on meh; but all that did lead to an explosive finale again. Really well done.

After that, S3 onwards they just couldn't get it going. My take is that their material was for 2 seasons, and the rest was just to milk money.

1st couple of seasons are good. Then it goes downhill but I admit I look forward to every episode. it's a shadow of it's former self, but still very good TV.
That being said, this season's premier was "meh" at best but they had a ton of loose ends and clean up to do from the end of last year.

How did you watch this season's premier? I thought it will only air on the 15th?!?

I am with Zim. I think I got to the third episode and said Nope!

Each to his own though. It just was not for me.

First season is quite compelling. I quit a few into the second season. The season finale of season 1 really was sacrilegious and offensive and it killed the spirit of the series.

But first season is very good.

I liked it well enough through the first half of season 1. They blew the doubt of "is he/isn't he" that was the meat of it's opening. From there it devolved rapidly into stupidity and complete implausibility. I dropped it completely after season 3 as the fact the main character is still employed is beyond stupid, let alone where she went from there.

less excellent since they ditched the luminous Morena Baccarin.

The fugly blonde lead woman is in equal contention with Tatiana Maslany of Orphan Black as superior actressing in a tv show, ever, of all time. Reward shows be damned...these 2 old ladies EASILY could tutor mismeryl streep the communist.
