Are you kidding me? Most teens do not have money, but they have parents that do and lots give them money without a question....

I don't know what kind of prissy richie rich family and area you grew up in, but the AVERAGE family doesn't have the spare income to just give their kids a bunch of money without question. Do they give them money? Sure, usually in some sort of allowance for chores and stuff. In that case they aren't really just giving money away though, it's being earned. I know/knew very few kids who grew up getting everything they wanted whenever they wanted.

yes, now I came from a prissy richie rich family. Son, I grew up in the downtown/acre of Lowell, MA. There are no rich families there.

Anyways, you reiterate my point. They have money to give them, they give it to them, the teen proceeds to spend it at the mall.

all of my close FYE's...we had 2...closed down a few months ago. There prices were ridiculous, even 'going out of business' sale was crap.

I used to snag "Made In Japan - aka Taiyo Yuden" FujuFilm DVDs there. Their prices were so high, nobody bought them, so they still had the MIJ media long after any other store did.

Their pricing is high. When they put stuff on sale, they put it to MSRP and discount it from there and suckers buy it.

Example:

Casino Royale on BD regularly $19.99. They want to clearance it out, so they mark it up to MSRP of $29.99 and slap a 33% off sticker on it marking it down to $19.99 and people buy it because it is discounted. Businesses do this all the time.

Generally, they have a lot better selection than the average retail big box like Walmart or Target, and they're usually in malls, which usually don't have those big box stores anyway. You or I might scoff and either buy a CD on Amazon or purchase MP3s instead, but the average consumer still does most of their shopping in physical stores.

edit: despite that....they aren't exactly doing well: http://www.bing.com/stocksandfunds/search?q=US:TWMC&Scenario=Stocks&FORM=DTPFSA&qpvt=twmc#
