there is NOTHING wrong with using the mouse. all you need to do is disable the in game vsync because it locks your framerate to half of your refresh rate. if you want vsync then force it through your cards control panel or whatever app that you normally use.

I played it for a few hours. I liked the story/ambience etc, but the fact that I couldn't see the things attacking me because of the narrow view really pissed me off. I would spin around then they would move, and I still couldn't see them. The control scheme was also not the best.
are you playing on a widescreen monitor?

I am playing through it on PS3, always at night on 50" plasma and 5.1 surround and it does a pretty good job with immersion. I tend to spend a lot of time searching for every item, attempting to conserve ammo by using kinesis throwing a lot, etc so the game is taking me plenty long to get through. Anyways, if the quality of the game keeps up like it has so far, I would say it is worth any reasonable price you might get it for.

Yeah. It needs a controller. And while it does have some thrills, they're mostly of the "monster jumps out of nowhere!" type and those wear off kind of fast. But it is still fun.

i was fine with mouse and keyboard. but otherwise, agreed.

I bought this game eons ago and just started playing it again. I just got past the astroid cannon stage and am heading to medical. Fun game, kind of frustrating at points, and the 3rd person view sucks because you can't see crap, but the story itself is fine. Hope I'm about done with it though as I jump a bit when 3 monsters come running at me.

I played for about 20 minutes but it freaks me out too much for it to be fun for me.
