Howdy networking people... PPPoE anyone?

PPPoE sux!! I have had ADSL for a long time. I still use the same external modem to get a bridged connection. ONe time some idiot engineer set me up as a PPPoE customer. Then when I tried to explain what he did was wrong he hung up on me! I can see where the PPPoE stuff makes it easier on the provider, but I dont like the crap USB modem that BellSouth dishes out to the PPPoE clients.
