How'd your first day of class go?

prof is cool guy with cool accent

You'll master the prof's "ooooooooh" by the end of the 2nd week. Did he show the robot insurance SNL skit?

I go there also, majoring in ACMS. I'm taking math 327 (ugh) & 394 (my prof seems cool), and cs 417 & 457.

CS457 is so f*cking cool. The amount of time spent in that class is directly proportional to how many bells and whistles you want to do. For the most part, you can finish the basic requirements in under 5 hours (except for the ray tracer). If anyone cares, my final animation was the one that took 4th place for Spring 2002.

Which section of MATH/STAT 394? Currently in the completely packed B section.

Yep, two classes and a FIG...I'm thinkin the FIG might not be as cool as I thought it might be though...

Is your stat prof a guy by the name of Doug Martin? That's who I had for stat 390 last quarter. He wasn't bad at all.. it was a team-taught class, so there were like 4 different profs, and they all more or less sucked except for him.

hmm, no my prof is david rose. is it just me or do stat people all have sort of a unique sense of humor? granted i've only taken one other stat class (stat 311)...

can't, i have to work! i have a 3 and half hour break, and i work for 2.5 hours of that. the other 1 i'm eating lunch i am working just about the minimum i can work (12.5 hours a week)

ooooooh yup, that was pretty funny... it was also kind of funny to watch the little dogs play soccer

is it just me or do stat people all have sort of a unique sense of humor? granted i've only taken one other stat class (stat 311)...

Did you have that old guy for 311? The one that would end his lectures with this every other day to leave us hanging:

I think it was just the prof that was a little weird. He told the worst jokes but the delivery was just like his regular material; dry and unenthusiastic. My TA was a dude, and an ugly one at that; but I still showed up to every section. :Q

yea, that guy had a really boring voice.... it sucked because i sat in front and kept on falling asleep

Doubt it. Go with MATH300 if you enjoy the theory presented in CSE321.
