this chip is a 45nm part with 6mb cache using the "wolfdale" cores and you can buy them for $195. I wonder why noone oc's them. maybe an unusual socket. its been out since nov.11 2007

They are dual socket server boards

67 of them listed at newegg
skt 771 boards

And by the way, they have 0 overclocking options. The only one I know of for enthusiasts with overclocking options is the limited edition "Skulltrail" board at $600+, and good luck finding one of those as only 2000 will be made and it is intended to be paired with 2x QX9775's at $1500 a peice. $3600+ for mobo and cpu's is a little steep for me, not to mention the 8gbs+ of registered ram you would need

heh.. also 771 are mostly server boards. Look at tyan, supermicro.

And as far as i know, only way to overclock server boards is a BSEL mod, or software.

A few buddies of mine on XS are running yorkies with bsel mods on server chipsets.
