Howard Stern Message Board...

Howard closed it b/c he can dish out sh!t all day long but cant take it, they insulted Beth and he got pissy they have been talking bout closing it for weeks

People also kept posting a lot disturbing stuff on there.
 
I used to like Stern a little bit, however he started to get more and more full of himself. Typical of many media people he thinks he knows more than what he really does and can't handle people talking crap about him.
 
IIRC, it was only a matter of days after it first opened that they closed new registrations and totally shut the board down to guests, because things weren't going according to plan. I guess it never changed 😀

Speaking of badmouthing him, alt.fan.howard-stern on usenet morphed into a hate group a few years ago when the show started going downhill, and the bitterness and rants there range from hilarious to disturbing 😀

uhhhh...no.

It's because people on the board can't act in a civilized manner and it became too big of a pain in the ass for him to moderate it.
 
The main reason is that in became unmanageable. Beyond all the racist threads and harassment that was a daily part of the boards, Howard was not happy with people sharing information such as (i) where to get mp3s of his radio show (ii) how people could d/l the uncensored E shows that he was charging a $4.95 rental fee for and (iii) when he cut his Sirius deal his contract provided a cut of revenues he generated, which were to be tracked by use of a signup code Howard provided, but people on the board found better codes and rebates and this means real money to Howard and his agent.
