well... i think that anybody who goes on the show should expect to be abused. i mean, that's what the show's more or less about...

and yes, i find him to be entertaining / intelligent at times.

Hey, I don't like the way he treats people either, but I love his show anyhow because he makes me laugh.

The thing is this, when he books a guest that wants implants, why should he give them to him if he's not going to get ratings off of it? In order to get ratings he's got to do what he knows, which is what he's always done and what his show consists of.

You've got to know you are going to be ripped to shreads on that show, I mean it happens to supermodels, so why would a woman with a hole in her head think she would be different? She's asking for it in my opinion.

If these people didn't want something off of the guy all the time maybe he wouldn't rip into them as much, but since they do and they don't do anything for what they are asking for, he berates them, which makes it worth it to him to give up thousands of dollars worth of stuff. You think they would take his crap had they not wanted to get something off of him? I think not. They deserve it, even if it does make me uncomfortable at times.

I think he plays on the worst in people to make money and be famous. I think he's emotionally dead. He makes an art of what kills the spirit. He provides the satesfying illusion that we, him and us, are above it all. I don't think so.

Absolutely. It's a simple business transaction.

Humiliation in exchange for X (breast implants, trips, sex with a porn star, etc.) :)

You don't listen much.

I can tell.

That's actually the opposite of what he provides... which is the illusion that we're ALL CHUMPS.
No matter how rich, famous, etc each one of us is a freak, retard, and/or stupid.

That's why his interviews are so good.... because he cuts down to size people who generally consider themselves 'above it all'.

Of course he is, that's what he gets paid to be !! People listen to him or watch his show either because they think he's funny or to become all huffed up and outraged, then they can feel morally superior, either way the station's rating jump up and Howard has yet again done what he does best :)

I happen to like Howard's radio show, you never know what outragous thing he's going to say next and I find that amusing :)

Of course he's an @sshole. Totally exploitive.
The bigger problem is that people listen to his show. What's THEIR problem? THAT'S what's f**ked up.

wow you guys are pussies(of course it's ATOT), or you just don't know what it's like to bust someone's balls.

His show is incredibly funny...I think people know they're going to get ripped on if they go on the show, i doubt they have that big of a problem with it.

And i saw the one with the woman who got shot in the head....he did bust on her too much, like when her arm was feeling up her body, but hey, it's good radio.

<< He's a libertarian. Not that I'm proud of that or anything... Just a note. >>

This is not actually true. He ran for governor of NY as a libertarian because they were the only party that would nominate him, but during the campaign, and especially after, he goofed extensively on the libertarians.

I think the people who hate Stern are basing it on a misimpression of the show. The TV show is only a very limited slice of the radio show, which is much less reliant on topless babes - the producers of the E! show have just cherry-picked visually interesting stuff.

I hated Stern for years, until I actually started listening to the show. Now I think he is brilliant, and one of the funniest, most honest performers in the world. He is really a pretty decent guy as well. The movie of Private Parts is pretty indicative of the way he is on the air - he definitely has a facade of arrogance, but is basically self-effacing and loves his children more than anything.

I wouldn't be sad if you died either. You could drop dead RIGHT NOW and it wouldn't phase me.
Afterall, I don't know you.

What point does that prove?

I have listened to Stern on and off since he was on the radio here in Washington back in the early 80's. The show now is not nearly as funny as it was 10 years ago in my opinion but Stern is still far and away the best at what he does. He is actually a great celebrity interviewer and seems to know how to get them to talk about subjects and issues they normally duck for PC reasons. As for the woman coming on for breast implants she obviously knew in advance exactly who and what Stern is and what he would likely say to her. She was willing to put up with it because she wanted breast implants without paying for them herself. Nothing more than a basic exchange of entertainment for monetary gain.

Let me explain something about Stern. I used to be a huge Stern fan, but not anymore. First, all he does is talk about how great he is, how he's the 'King of All Media', how hot his girlfriend is (she's in it for the $), and how everyone copies him. YAWN! ENOUGH!

Second, I don't think he's that funny anymore. How many times can you ask a model or celebrity how many times he/she has had sex? GOD, STOP!

Third, can someone please put Robin to sleep. She's dreadful. All she does is laugh at everything that Howard says. I can't listen to him anymore because of her annoying laugh.

Fourth, his guests suck. I don't care for retards running around the studio and celebrities. All Stern cares about is how much celebrities make. I don't care. They're messed up in the head anyway.

Fifth, Gary is an annoying loser.
Sixth, Stern should of retired years ago.
Seventh, Imus is still better!

Ah, finally you tip your hand! If you seriously prefer that old fossil to Howie, you were never really a Stern fan in the first place.
