For example i want to find forum for cooking or other specific topic, whats the best way to do so?

Currently i use google directory with no luck and google search, but getting pretty much junk and dead/new forums, is there some tips for search string or other options except google?

Also when you find one decent forum, and want to ask if its members know any other large forums of same subject they usually delete thread because of it seems like advertisement of other forums

P.S. I am not looking for cooking forum its just example, i have different questions over time one day it can be video editing, other day its something like cars etc so i need way to find correct message board quickly.

Well, you're not quite at the End of the Internet, but you've hit an off-topic forum, which encompasses pretty much everything. ;)

I know ATOT because i used to read hardware reviews in the past and found out that this place has forum as well, though it was long time ago.

MercenaryForHire i don't believe i can get same quality answers if i ask here rather than special forum, for example lawyer forum, i don't think there a lot of lawyers here and threads are getting buried pretty fast in off topic.

Compared to some other places, this forum is slower than frozen waffle batter.

You're also going to be hard-pressed to get anything other than amateur law advice online, because:

1. No one is going to be legally responsible for the stuff you do based on their advice, ergo, expect BAD advice.
2. If they can charge you $100/hr to do it in person, why give it away for free?

Regarding cooking, cars, and other stuff - hey, we have lives outside the keyboard too.

Basically, lurk around a bit and you'll get a handle on who knows what, recommended sites, etc. For example - <shameless plug> YAGT.org was created to contain the threads dealing with relationship problems (YAGT = Yet Another Girl Thread) </shameless plug>

Oh, and change your avatar off the default, Montek - or expect this reply for the first hundred posts or so.

I always just ask here. Sometimes, asking an established internet community like Anandtech here is 100x better than asking a static search engine like Google. I've been pointed directly to the largest photography and woodoworking forums just by asking here.

Always ignore the replies that suggest Google is the be-all end-all of internet communication.

I think I have something like "forumplanet.com" bookmarked at home, or "bigboards.com". Both are probably links I picked up since I've been here. Not too sure but I think they are basically gateways to a bunch of forums.

Seriously though, what can't you find through a search engine that would be worth your time?

I rarely seek out forums, but sometimes they can be good sources of info. So whenever I do I try:

1) Searching for the subject (plus the word 'forums' or 'board' on Google)

2) Searching for whatever the 'big' sites are on the particular topic I'm interested in (again, typically by Google by doing a very broad keyword search.) Not all big sites will have discussion forums, but inevitably one of them will.

1. Why i care, because i can ask source, all laws are online, and you can read em without problem.
2. Why there is legal advice boards at all then? Because people dont mind sharpen their skill or someone who knows not especially layer can tell you as well from his/her experience or maybe lawyer to, its always worth try, besides you don't lose anything.

You people act like kids, oh i forgot you are kids and retards, well good luck then.

Anandtech forum suck for asking anything because only gamer noobs are here, nolifers and other scum. Cya and good like putrefying here.
