How you ever recalled it raining at 4th of July?

I'm 25 and grew up in Los Angeles and have never seen it rain during 4th of July.

If it did it would be a real bummer because no fireworks!

In NY. Happened last year or the year before. We were supposed to go to a show and it thunder-stormed an hour before it was supposed to start so we missed it entirely.

Hell yes...we even had snow for the 4th one year when we were in Wyoming. My kids STILL laugh about setting off their fireworks in 6" of fresh snow...and still snowing.

That sounds like my kind of 4th Boomer. I'd like to live in a magical place where it's cold enough to get snow in July. It's rained plenty of times here. Seems like there's always the threat of it.

The first official day of Summer in Seattle is the 5th. 🙂
I towed aerial advertising for several years and we planned on a rainy work day.

The joke in Cheyenne was, “If Summer falls on a weekend this year, let’s have a picnic.”

You know you can fire canons without playing Russian music right? :awe:

Just such an odd choice to celebrate Independence.

when I was MUCH younger, I thought it was in celebration of the War of 1812 and our defeat of the Brits...sadly ( for us cannon lovers) that's not the case...it's about Russia...and Napoleon.

For us it's 1st of July and it rains practically every year or it looks like it's going to rain. Fireworks are often cancelled because of weather.
It's kind of like May Run. 99% of the time it's shitty weather and it even snows. It's the big long weekend everyone gets excited about for some reason but I rather just spend that one at home instead of going camping in the cold.

How about when they were cancelled due to heat, wildfires, and COVID-19. Rain sounds good.

In Colorado I always welcome rain on the 4th of July. It usually stops by the time they set off the fireworks, and it makes it less likely that the fireworks will start a wildfire. 😱

Just for the record, it's raining now. 🙂 Anybody else getting rain today?
