Ok so I have this friend who always asks me to translate mundane things with no supporting text around it, or even context. This one has me a little stumped, again lack of context it seems.

????????

Yeah, so the ??? is obviously drawing up a comparion to "what was thought" ???, which is being compared to the current thought ??

Without much else it doesnt make sense to me, unless the speaker was trying to draw the listener to make this comparison.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, like you said, it's difficult to translate without context.

But my guess is something like "The feeling [thought?] that's more than what I thought."

Yeah, thats what I was thinking.

Although, cant ?? also mean feelings, emotions etc.

So could it mean "Rather than thinking, feel" or something to that effect.

The thing is, he reads these comics that he cant understand and picks out little snippets for me to dissect.

Oh well. I will leave it at that. I need to hit the sack! ????!

WTF, tell him to get the manga that have like both English and Japanese. It's much easier that way.
