In my Comic Con years we used to cram 4 guys in a room. Usually we would get two rollaways, but everyone in the motel was looking to do the same thing. If we could only get one or none, two would have the beds every other night. After the second day, no one cared, as long as we had a spot we were good.

If you are going to go during a busy time, reserve your rollaways.

he's actually got plenty of money (no dating life == lots of extra cash) but our two mutual female friends aren't that well off and while I don't want to exclude them, I also don't want to invite them along for a vacation that I know they'd really have to stretch themselves to afford.

I have done this several times going to the Kentucky derby, except 6 people. We tried 3 to a room and 6 to a room, both times bringing an air mattress. The hotel room is for sleeping, all other times you are out doing something. When a hotel room costs $2400 a night, sharing 6 ways is still expensive.

Expensive until you figure out you don't have to pay for mint juleps. They have one waiting when you walk in the front door, and you can get more whenever you want. Zero to drunk in 10 seconds. We parked next to a giant limo and talked to the folks there while they were waiting for one of their party. Found out it was one of the owners of a horse that was running, but the owner said he didn't think his horse would win, so don't bet on him. So we didn't. Guess who %#$@ won? At least we got to hang out with them before and afterwards. That was closer to zero to drunk in 3 seconds.

You split it by having everyone nut up and just paying the same for everyone regardless of sleeping conditions.

I've gone on lots of trips as friends and we all always pay the same even if someone sleeps on the couch or something. It's not that big of a damn deal.

Three singles sleeping in the bed, then put all your sofa/couch into a double-bed and the couple enjoy it.

Oh shit! 2 women? The bathroom is going to be a problem if you're going someplace where they're going to get dressed up all the time. You can do it with 5 guys since they can shower and get ready super fast but your group might be a problem.

Just run the options by everyone, and see what they say. I'd volunteer for a couch in exchange for a couple of beers, and I'd pay full price for my share of the room. I'm comfortable everywhere.

I've done this, we just cycled who was on the floor/couch. Though with that makeup of people it may be more difficult to do this.
