There are two posibilities: you put the cpu in a tray. this is a plastic form in with the cpu fits perfectly,
so that the pins won't bend during transport. Tray's are usually big, they are made for lot's of cpu's. eventually can be cut in pieces, for
one cpu. your local computer shop might help you!
2nd option is to stick the cpu in electricaly conductive foam. this is a special foam that protects the cpu of electrostatic voltage. that would give
some mecanical protection to the pins.
the most important thing is that the pins must stay straight, so that they fit into the socket.....

Best way is to use the hard plastic trays that oem sellers receive the chips in. If there's a computer store nearby maybe ask for one.

If not, then put a bit of foam on each side and then the anti static bag and bubble wrap or foam. Peanuts aren't very good as the chip will work its way to the bottom through the peanuts.

If you ship with a hs/fan combo, best to take apart or wrap very well as shock can hurt the core if the hs is on top of it.

A stuck mine in a crucial ram box. Worked great. Actually, I had two. A normal size one and a double size one. I opted for the double size because then I had plenty of room to stick the packaging sticker on.

You're not shipping USPS are you??? Just so you know. Fedex is the best. UPS has lost 35.7% of all packages ever shipped to me, they got here, just 2-4 weeks late. And they wouldn't recompensate me for shipping cause it was ground.

i usually send them in little plastic trays ...........then wrapped with bubble wrap.........then placed in a big enough box so that it doesnt get lost. for items of greater cost i prefer fedex although my main shipping method has been usps with confirmation

No, if it can move around in shipping, then it will probably get damaged, IMO. If you have any hard, durable plastic case for the CPU, pack it in some kind of foam inside the case, or anything to prevent it from moving (while at the same time not damaging the CPU itself). Perhaps some cloth or if you still have that foam that most motherboards are supported with, some of that. Just make sure not to use anything that will break up like cotton balls or anything.

I have used a Zip disk case to hold Pentium processors in shipment. Open the Zip disk case, stick the CPU to the plastic with a gob of thermal goo. Make sure when you close the case the pins don't touch the other side. Cover the pins with a cut out from an antistatic bag. Put a ring of roled up Kleenex around the CPU to hold it if the goo lets go. It works. RRRRRRRRR

ok well the small case i have is from ubid and its like an official oem case or something cuz it saids amd on the front cover... but still as said before i think the top hits the core.. i think im going to prlly use that foam from crucial on top and just tape the case shut... and ship it in a box with either peanuts or bubble wrap

does that sound good?

Wrap it in something soft and put a rubber band around it.

i'd stick the pins into a small section of aluminum foil, then put that in a plastic box with soft stuff around the box. NO PEANUTS TOUCH THE CPU. unless you want to fry it ;)

cut two pieces of card board the size of the cpu............sandwich the cpu in the middle and hold together with a rubber band......safe...no pins get bent......core protected.....
