How would you option your Corvette Stingray?

My V was crystal red, so I was wanting to go back to Torch Red like my C6 Corvette. What makes you pick 2LT over 3? Just curious as I've been going back and forth.

I don't want the nav, and I don't like how the seat color goes up onto the dash in the 3LT.

I think after doing some research that I will forgo the 3LT as the vinyl or whatever they use on 2LT is still decent looking. I will however be getting Nav as I used the hell out of it in the last three car, plus the 2015 includes the PDR feature.

Damn, Corvettes have gotten pricey. $70k+ for base coupe? That used to be loaded convertible or base Z06 money...

It's not Mulan leather with 2LT as opposed Napa leather with 3LT. They are both treated leather products, but I think the Mulan leather might be more durable? The Mulan felt less soft/plush to me.

Sorry, should have more clear. I was talking about the leather wrapped dash as opposed to the vinyl on the 2LT trim. The seat leather is another story, but I planned on doing the suede inserts as they tend to be a little less head absorbent on sunny days. It made a big difference with the black interior in my CTS-V.

Overall, the configuration stand as:

Z51 Coupe $58,000
2LT Trim package $4,160
1L* Suede Insert $395
106 Nav $1,795
ERI Battery Protection $100
J6F* Red Brake $595
FE4 Magnetic Ride Control $1,795
FAY Carbon Fiber Dash $995
Q7T Black Rims $495
MEP 7 speed $-
Total $68,330

I believe that GM Employee should put it around $61k or so. About $10k more than my '10 Grand Sport, and I believe that the price increase is warranted. A lot more technology, better interior and materials, more performance and features.

Just an FYI. The carbon fiber dash is on constraint. It may quicker to order your car without it and then put it in yourself. House of Wheels in FL sells them for $520 shipped (it's the real deal GM part). It doesn't take too long to put in and requires minimal tools (google youtube or corvette forum posts for a DIY writeup).

Also, don't assume you're going to find a dealer willing to honor that discount on a Z51 equipped c7. They make a lot less by doing so, and can sell every z51 they're allocated without needing to. Participation in those discounts is optional. Most won't do it.

The difference between 2LT and 3LT materials is somewhat major, 2LT is obviously a vinyl dash while 3LT is a smooth leather. The value you place on it is obviously your own decision though.

The vinyl dash will last longer, and be less reflective than the leather. Less distracting is always better for the driver.

I'm not going nuts for the Z51 package, just don't care that much.

3LT Coupe
Lime Rock Green Metallic, grey leather/suede interior
18/19" 5-spoke chrome wheels
6-speed paddle auto

$66,335

I would hope the auto in these feels a bit more intuitive. The C6 GS was way too easy to shift early. The Camaro was more natural.

Have two dealers that will give me GM Employee on a Z51, and have a written quote from one.. I'm going to look at the 2LT vs 3LT difference today. The price difference is low enough that it's not going to be a financial call, but preference.

It's probably going to come down to how much "tan" you want in your interior. Personally, and while I'm not a big fan of tan interiors in general, I would go with the 3LT kalahari interior with the torch red. Really has that ferrari look to it with the red/kalahari. With 2LT you only get the seats/doors/console area. That would be my choice with the red interior (2LT). I found the 3LT red dash to be a bit distracting (still looks awesome).

I'd probably do:
2LT
Lime Rock Green/Tan
Wait for the 8-spd auto to hit the Coupe

Chevy price has this at a bit over $60k.

Unfortunately no more lime rock green (2014 only color that was replaced by orange for 2015). The 8-speed will be the auto in all 2015 corvettes Z06 and base.

I really thought the green was a sharp color... very mature (like the crystal red). That with the tan or brown interior was super classy. That being said, I think it only accounted for like 3% of cars sold.

Well, order was placed and have a number to track online. Went with 3LT as the car felt much cooler inside compared to the black dash cars. Suede inserts should also help with the heat and hopefully not frying my wife's legs during the summer.

2015 Z51 coupe Torch red Kalahari
3LT - package
ERI - Battery Run Down Protection
J6F - Red Brakes
FE4 - Magnetic Suspension
IL6 - Suede Seat Inserts
Q7T - Black Rims

Now the wait begins. 🙁
