Have a deposit down at a major dealership to order a 2015 Stingray. I'm planning on ordering the build below. Just curious what you would order, if you were going to order a stingray.

http://www.chevrolet.com/corvette-sports-cars.html

Arctic White Coupe
Z51 (Performance Package)
1LT (Base interior Trim)
Performance Exhaust - now included with Z51 package for 2015
Magnetic Selective Ride Control - i.e. computer/magnetically adjustable shocks
Jet Black Competition Seats with suede inserts (suede wheel / shifter boot also included)
Black Wheels
Yellow brake calipers
Black painted mirrors / wing
Black badges
Edit: and most importantly the 7 speed manual

Starting this thread here because I was just curious what others would pick (outside of a specific corvette forum).

No black mirrors or spoiler on either car.

IMO it makes them look tacked on. The car does not look as striking with them, especially in white.

Everything else looks great:thumbsup:

I don't understand why anyone would get a white sports car.

Mine would be similar to KentState did.

I would go with Crystal Red and the 2LT level though.

My V was crystal red, so I was wanting to go back to Torch Red like my C6 Corvette. What makes you pick 2LT over 3? Just curious as I've been going back and forth.

$3,000 for an interior wrapped in Chevy leather seems a waste.

There are a high number of very pricey appearance options. I don't think I'd do more than Z51 2LT plus nav.

$600 for painted caliper, blah.

I would opt for the Paint Stripper Resistance Package.
Especially if you plan to double park.

I would more than likely go with a basic 1LT with 7 speed manual in yellow.
If I were doing track work I'd either take my motorcycle or get Miata project car.

Those cars look best in red. I think white was a mistake :( Also, get the version that stays running when you have things hanging on your keyring :D

Also, you're a lucky SOB and I hate you...because jealousy.

I think the white shows the lines of the car and looks very exotic.

How can you not like that?

I like this guy! +1

OP, When is the planned delivery date? Don't forget the pictures when it arrives.

Delivery should be by the end of Oct (being conservative per the dealer based on their current allocation).

On the Ford side, I actually would have considered the 2015 mustang, especially if the SVT car was available. I really like the new mustang. However, I get a bit of a tax break if I order / take delivery before I leave SC (here on a business project until the end of the year). The timing didn't work out.

As far as "why white?" My favorite three colors for the C7 are red (torch not crystal), blue (laguna not night race), and white. I think the lighter / brighter colors look more exotic (not a fan of yellow but it's similar to torch IMHO for the pop). I've always been a fan of edgy sports cars in white - just personal preference I guess. That being said, if they screwed up the color and it came as red/blue I'd still take delivery. Black doesn't show the edgy vents and such (which some people hate), same with night race blue. Crystal red and the (now discontinued) green look super classy, but a bit too mature for my taste (I'm 29). Didn't have any desire to get the new grey or orange as I didn't have the opportunity to see them in person. Silver is similar to white... but ultimately I liked white more in person. So there is my "why white" speech.

Crystal red tricoat with mulan red leather.
Black wheels.
7sp MT
Magnetic shocks
Nav

Lots of little cosmetics I wouldn't mind, but pretending I'm really paying for it.

Wuzup101, do you mind sharing which national dealer you are ordering with? I'm talking to Jim Ellis here in Atlanta, but have also talked to MacMulkin. Both agreed to take the GM employee discount so not sure it's worth going with a national dealer.

Yeah, typically Ford doesn't release an SVT model until 2 years after a major overhaul.

2LT - Z51
A8
Night Race Blue
Kalahari Interior
Magnetic Ride Control
NAV / PDR

Unfortunately all the price increases have me thinking about a CTS V-Sport.
A8, Magnetic Ride Control, NAV and e-Diff are standard for $60k.

Sure. I'm working with Dennis Tap at Les Stanford (Dearborn MI). I'm not a GM employee so I don't qualify for employee pricing. I do qualify for supplier pricing (using the credit union trick). Les Stanford was one of 2 major national dealerships that were doing Z51's with GMS (supplier pricing) when I put my deposit to order down (at some point in late June or early July). For what it's worth, I did stop in at my local (smaller) dealership to see if they could do GMS - but unfortunately they only get a few Vettes a year and it doesn't make sense for them financially to sell at GMS (they aren't marked up either). Kerbeck in Cary NC (which is about 2.5 hours from me) does GMS on the non Z51 coupes / verts. MacMulkin was NOT doing GMS when I ordered (on Z51's at least).

A few things to remember for anyone ordering (to the best of my knowledge):

- GMS is slightly above invoice price
- GM employee is slightly below invoice
- The programs are independent in that a dealer can say yes to one and no to another
- The Z51 is considered a different model than the base car for the purposes of these programs (or at least supplier)
- It's up to the dealer what they participate in; however, I believe once they start to accept it they have to do it for everyone.

When I got on the list, there were more dealerships doing GM employee pricing than GMS. All you have to do is sign up for a credit union for GMS... it's like a free $6k+ off the car. The dealerships also get some money back from GM from an employee sale... not so with GMS (from what I've been told). I can completely understand why GM employee would be easier to get (you have a much smaller base of people who would qualify for that).

Thanks for the info. When I did the pricing calculator, GM Empoyee pricing appears to be about $10k below MSRP for the configuration I'm looking for. I believe the discount was nearly the same on the CTS-V when I purchased it.
