How would you handle THIS situation?

Ok, here is a little story (based on something that happened to me) and I am just interested in hearing what you would do if you were in this situation...

It is rush hour, and you are coming home from work. You are driving along, and suddenly a car cuts you off, forcing you to slow down. Big deal, happens all the time in the city. The drive continues, and now the car that cut you off is in a lane beside you, and the traffic in that lane is moving slowly, so the car falls behind you. As you approach an intersection, you switch lanes to avoid getting stuck behind traffic that is making a right-hand turn. In doing so, you get in front of the car that cut you off (but despite changing lanes rather suddenly, you DID NOT cut the car off, as it did to you).

As you continue driving up the street, the car behind you comes around, using the shoulder of the road to pass you, once again cutting you off -- this time blatantly and on purpose. You came within INCHES of being sideswiped. The car accelerates and then throws a plastic cup out of the window, along with a few other bits of assorted trash. They do not hit your car, but they were throw AT you.

Rather than turning where you normally turn, you decide to follow the car. At the next light, you finally pull up beside them. You see two guys, the driver is laughing at you, as if he accomplished something...his buddy in the passenger seat is waving "THE CLUB" automotive theft-deterrent unit at you, implying he wants to hit you with it...

How do YOU respond to this situation? Let's hear some responses, and then I'll tell you what I did. :D:evil:

Ignore it and move on.

No sence in taking it any further. Just a waste of your time. Why bother with something that in the next 45 seconds will make no difference in your life?

Number 1, I wouldn't have followed the guy.

If it looks like I'm going to have to defend myself, I'd see what's around me. I have a hydraulic jack in my car, which has a hard metal lever. I also think I have a crow bar in my car. If the guy took a swing at me with the club, he'd get the curved end of the crowbar across the eyes first, then in the nuts.

the only thing i dont agree with is your use of "sence" rather than "sense".

Make a note of their license plate #, make, & model, then call cops & either report that you just saw them steal the car, or report that they're drinking and/or smoking pot while driving...

That seems to happen every single day. We live in a world with a bunch of idiots, so you have to get used to it. We'd be better off if they just died, but we aren't so fortunate, so we have to tolerate them and their stupidity.

I would smile and wave cheerfully at them, and maybe try to initiate a sing-along by rolling down my window.

Does that have any consequences? What's the worst that is going to happen to them though, if nothing is found on them.

Yeah, so how long do we have to wait to hear the rest of the story.

I don't know what I'd do. Maybe you should've sideswipe them when they passed you on the shoulder? That will probably do a lot more harm than good, but I doubt that there's any way you'd be held accountable. How could they ever prove it was you who sideswiped them? Especially since they are on the shoulder. If it escalated to the point where they were laughing and threatening me at the intersection, I may have shot them and ended their silly lives for being such stupid drivers.

Probably a log time. Ericmatello apparently did something to these people and they found out where he lived and probably beet his geeky ass to a pulp.

Then take a screwdriver to his motherboard.

There are a bunch of assholes like this around the US. Just ignore them, it's nothing to get worked up about because it can even get you in more trouble with the law.

Whipped out the cell phone and called 911 reporting what I thought was a drunk driver and giving the license plate, the make and model of the car, and a description of the driver.

And then proceded home.

something like this happened to me.. except the guy didnt wave anything at me.

I pulled the ebrake, popped the clutch, and RUINED what was left of my nitto nt-450's (I wanted new tires anyhow...) and made the guy CHOKE and GAG on burnt rubber. (he had his windows down, and was literally choking..) Then, as he was in a cloud of burnt rubber, i turned right, went the back way home.
