Wonder if he would still call it the flu, or a hoax.

Something needs to get his attention, perhaps a near-death experience would do the trick, or perhaps not, as the mentally ill operate on a different plain.

Of course maybe he already has it, without the cough. A number of people have described the hallucinations they experienced from the fever, and that shit stain is clearly hallucinating about how great he is.
 
I would celebrate the good fortune of our country were the two repug traitors in the White House to contract Covid19. Normally 'leadership' getting infected would be a bad thing, but not this time.

Would much prefer them to be rational adults who respect their oaths of office, also valued expert medical opinions or had any respect for science. That would work. Would probably go a long way for making me value their presence. But that's not the case; this duo of corruption and fail does nothing but hurt this country and those in it, for the benefit of an ideological few. All 3 branches of government have been soiled by this criminal. We are now fully a Banana republic, thanks to repugs.

He's been very busy after all. Literally more interested in fighting vote by mail initiatives than stopping covid19 spread like a brush fire in August.

Just heard that 11 SS agents tested positive yesterday. Well shucks. These assholes have ruined our republic, our justice system and our economy, right now we have 73k+ Americans dead and 14.7 % unemployment. I'm supposed to feel contrite and sad because Pelosi is hopefully two ventilators away from being president? Sure, ok ha ha

It's funny how wrong you are. Do you know why our country had such a horrible time getting tests and tests that work? Because of money. Do you know why Trump kept telling people this Pandemic was nothing and it will disappear, going from what 8 cases to 0? Because of money, he needs to lie so the stock market can stay as high as possible. Do you know why Trump is pushing so hard to reopen the country even though countless scientists who are much smarter than him, especially in this field, tell him not to? Because of money and he needs the facade of a strong economy for relection.

Then again, those who have Trump's nuts on their chins will say it's Obama's fault. Of course.

Sad part is this forced way-too-damned-early reopening of everything is going to cost many more lives than they care to admit...as if the elderly are just going to have to accept being the sacrificial lambs for "IT'S THE ECONOMY, dammit!"

And already we're seeing outbreak clusters forming.

No wonder Trump wants NO TESTING done. That's been his administration's position from the beginning...keep denying it's as bad as it is by restricting testing so much that there's never a full picture of the spread.

Too bad it's hard to hide all the bodies.

Of course it's money, or more accurately, commerce. I don't have my own energy production, crops, livestock, paper products production, refinery, or any type of heavy industry. I have to trade my knowledge and labor for them. Our government gets a cut of my labor and knowledge, and also that of the people I trade with. That trade has been simplified by the use of currency. When the trade stops, the money stops. I can't get the things I need, others don't get the services I provide, and government doesn't get it's cut of the transaction. The economy isn't simply important, it's everything. You might do alright as a hunter gatherer, I wouldn't.
 
If he caught that bug he wouldn't learn anything from it other than who he could pin this on besides those he already blamed for his other spectacular blunders.

That being said, poetic justice and karma would be working against his constant evasive maneuvering so from that perspective I'd feel a bit of satisfaction about his getting hit with the virus because he cares only about himself and would sacrifice any and all for his personal benefit whereas in his position as POTUS he is by the very nature of his job supposedly concerned for all of America's health and welfare.

His contracting COVID-19 would be a 'lil smidgin of the punitive justice he so richly deserves. He deserves a lot worse IMO because hey, he said it was no big deal and he said it would be gone in an instant and he said we should open up America despite the ongoing spread of the disease throughout the nation. Meaning, he's willing to sacrifice people's lives so he can get reelected.

Can't get much worse than that, although I know he'll make a very good effort at trying.

No, no, no. That's not how it works. You're just saying you believe because you won't admit to yourself that you know exactly how your argument would be countered. I'm simply telling you that you knew how others would react to your post and thus, what was wrong with what you said. And further, I am also saying that I won't play your game. The conversation you need to have is not with me but with how to be honest with yourself. Pretending you're me was only a suggestion on how to get started, not what you needed to do to get that conversation started. You already know how to do that. Wanting to is another matter. Whenever you are ready: I'm on your side.

You believe in the good and want to protect it. I lean more to knowing the good is real and thus have no need to protect it. It is, even if I am not. We both have faith but differ in kind, I think.

Exactly and very well put. But as you may know from reading my opinions, I believe that truth is always a third way, a synthesis of opposites and equally valid truths that require conscious transformation.

So you have very well stated the truth from the right. Do you know what the left will say, how they will react to that argument and dismiss it as incorrect?
 
I want him embarrassed and arrested after he loses the election bigly. After that he can contract whatever he wants, as long as he suffers a lot.

Honestly, I don't know. The only answer I've heard so far is that the government will have to foot the bill. That's all well and good, we'll dump that debt on our kids and walk away happy. But someone still has to do the work. There are millions of people that have to go to work or our entire society crumbles. We end up in a situation where one group has to work so the other group can stay safe at home. What happens when group A gets tired of taking care of group B?

We're going to have to crawl out from under our rocks sooner or later. We're going to have to apply some harsh logic to the situation. That has to end up being that everyone except those at risk go back to work. It may end up including even those at risk as so many of us are obese and in overall terrible physical condition. Sometimes there are no good answers.
