how would you display a video game?

inspired by the windows 95 thread... I have an unopened copy of the original Final Fantasy game. picked it up out of the clearance bin at KBToys in the mid 90's and it's been sitting in a box gathering dust in my parents basement.

I'm thinking it would make a neat decoration for my home office after I move, but how would you frame it? :hmm:

i would frame it in a cardboard box sent to some collector on ebay that bid a completely ridiculous amount for a game they'll never play.

After looking at the pictures, I'd get a beat up old NES, an old portable color TV, and a bunch of beat up games, and have a retro gaming station in the office. That would look better, and be cooler than displaying that game.

Thats a newb-only party.
Real men (like myself) experiment with groups.
Right now I am running F/F/T/T and its sweet.
I once found a kickass site with every realistic combination you could think of and it had pics of the party config and some genuinely good insight as to how effective they would be at various points in the game.

The GBA release gimped the difficulty a lot, so most of the original strategy is now moot.

If you scroll down there are much cheaper ones. Maybe if it was sealed and mint condition you could get a hundred or so for it.
yeah, it definitely has more value to me as a cool display piece than, say, a month's worth of grocery bills.

As I recall, the dude who set up that site gave 4 BB's the lowest rating.
Black Belts have a weak physical defense for pretty much the whole game and always have a crummy magic defense no matter what. Late in the game they get destroyed by any enemy with a group magic attack, especially the 4 fiends and Chaos.

In remakes of FF1 they added special armor for BB's/Monks which helped a lot. They also added items with larger healing and special defenses, like X-potions, mega potions, phoenix downs, mega phoenixes, red curtains, blue curtains, lunar curtains, and more. This makes the game much easier with any party, especially an unbalanced one.

Ummmm, no.
Thieves turn into ninjas late in the game, and they can use many weapons and armors and can also cast some black spells.
There are no sai's.
Black belts or monks turn into Masters, and aside from saving money, both classes pretty much stink throughout the game. They have good physical attack and not much else.
