When you keep doing something in spite of the negative consequences.

What if a person claims an addiction to a healthy lifestyle?

What would be the negative consequences?

Exactly. Addiction doesn't always have negative consequences. We only focus on the ones that do, because, well, they have negative consequences.

I'd say

"The condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or or involved in something."

is right.

Anything new that you are exposed to that you find fun/exciting initially gives you a natural high.. which you eventually get over.. it could be a day, week or months.. If you don't get over that high, and keep craving more, that's addiction. Your mind plays tricks with you too, convincing that it's cool.. So, you need professional help at that point.
