union jobs... many of them for decades you gotta be in family, or hookups, be already dating their daughter, 'look' like em and talk like em, even pay them a 'tip' as part of the whole deal...

thats the case for janitors, commercial sanitation, butchers, contractors, electricians, utility workers like telco workers, water, gas, electrical..

autoworkers dont fall into the category as much i'd say history has dictated...

both my brothers are Union employees. They just applied (one through a temp agency) for work, worked hard, got in, worked hard through their probation with the Union (six months) and now don't work hard...they get paid very well for what they do (one is a lot driver an the other unloads empty milk crates).

I manage a large union construction company, and we get most of our employees from people who have previously worked in the industry for non-union companies. After they have a few skills, they come to me and apply and if I like their attitude and work ethic I will hire them and get them signed up by the union.

And by the way, if you don't continue to work hard for you good paycheck, you get the boot.

Why give someone else your hard earned money just to be part of their useless club? Unions had a purpose, 50 years ago. Now they are useless and just run jobs off to other countries.
