because i have no clue where the hell, or how the hell I should go about determining the cost of developing the backend, front end, databases, data warehousing, and more for the core of the product... which for my final project (aka this business plan) is the most important aspect for an accurate forecast...

Which is why if this was just a homework question you should have played it as such. Not that you are going to be the next Bill Gates yet don't know how much it's going to cost you to do it and immediately have a hostile crowd laughing.

Hai guise, I am taking a class and my book isn't clear on how one determines the cost of a new business idea and determing ROI. Can I get helpz?

I will post tits if I get my answer.

VCs don't invest in vaporware. You need to find an angel investor aka a rich uncle to develop the beta software before you can even knock on VC door.

I've seen many cases of a VC firm investing in a particular developer who isn't even working on anything specific, but merely because he's got a reputation as a successful serial entrepreneur. This isn't the case here, but it is possible.

First to the second paragraph, do you own homework then. Read the fucking book.

Secondly to the first, that's most of the point here...most 'great ideas' are in process or already done.

Us that know your post history are very keen on how that applies.

I am doing my own damn homework... i am reaching out to research where I could possibly contact someone to determine the costs... ive read the book, i know what to do, and how to do it... i just have to get a VERY GOOD estimate on the cost of this...

sure, use my past history, but also know that I have never ever ever posted about any sort of business ideas floating around in my head...

how about an online university book exchange... sign up for $20 a year, submit your classes, starting with the first semester (where you will have to buy books), it determines the books you need, compares to other users, compares what books you already have and will allow you to exchange books between people in order to obtain all books necessary for your next semester, without buying anything but the first semester of books... UBXChange... but i never went anywhere with that....

LOL...you want us to determine the cost of something without giving us details? You might as well give a random number. If you do not have enough expertise to summarize the cost, maybe you should hire someone who does.

I just re-read my first post... no fucking wonder you guys are all "stfu you have no idea" "no we wont do your homework"... I was not meaning to ask for YOU guys to calculate it, I was attempting to get suggestions on well regarded application development companies... but I went about it the wrong way.
