Here's my idea, all the "wide-stance" Republicans come out and coup the "teabaggers" into a more responsible social position with America?

"Fabulous New Party"

It does have a certain ring to it? Your thoughts? Cuz I cannot think of a way for them to pull off such a thing with all the haterism since the civil rights era.

And now you should understand why there won't be peace in the ME.

The Tea Party should be ejected from the Party, and Grover Nordquist should be neutralized somehow. Once that's done, knock it off with the right wing religious culture war and focus on fiscal responsibility. Then, maybe, they'll be relevant.

I know exactly how to fix the Republican party but I'm not going to tell. But the perfection of my solution so tickles the shit out of me that I'm sorely tempted. And after Romney the solution should be obvious.

It's hilarious to me that liberals make "social issues" their number one thing, when of course the constitution says little to nothing about social issues, and doesn't really care who marries who.

It's certainly nothing the Conservative cares about.

The Liberals problem is not with Conservatives, but with Government.

And yet they vote for more and more, Government.

What a stupid thing to say. The Constitution doesn't need to specifically mention social issues in order to make social issues something the government can make laws about. The Constitution gives tons of leeway to lawmakers to make laws that restrict social behavior.

Our biggest problem is with conservatives who are attempting to oppress other people out of fear and ignorance, but a secondary problem is clearly people who don't understand the Constitution trying to tell us what it says.

the log cabin republicans should just fucking hijack the party. psycho evangelicals and tea baggers had their shot.

You idiots get handed McCain and Romney and then come out with 'radical extremist' propaganda. It's amazing. We could run Jimmy Carter for President and you'd keep saying that same old shit.

Someone needs to remind the Republican party about that.

Republicans should become more libertarian; they should ignore evangelical Christians.

That doesn't make them "become Democrats".

Funny, I can remember when the Democratic Party was asking what changes needed to be made to win back the White House in the 80's. They actually got lucky in 92 that Perot was running/took votes that would have normally gone to GHW Bush, and allowed Clinton to be elected.

Even with that being said the GOP needs to learn where to moderate (social) and where to stand their ground (fiscal). We also need to see if Obama's policies and actions actually get the economy back on track and not make it worse in the long run.
