<< Unfortunately not all dogs are trainable not like. We even took of our our dogs (basenji's) to a professional trainer about a decade ago because she kept trying to run away. She promptly ran away from the trainer. Our other (late) basenji was the same way, with the added perk of being one of the most agressive dogs I've ever seen. (He bit a police officer once who entered our backyard). >>
<< Another myth. Depends on the trainer not the dog. I have seen the worst agressive fighting dogs in the world be trained by the Keohler method duriong my volunteer work at a rescue for fighting dogs. After 16 weeks they are happy house pets whom are cat lovers not the game aggressive killers as when they were brought in. Really neat to see the transition. Check that book out. He was the lead trainer for walt disney during the 50-70's he debunks that myth with affidavits from the worst offenders. >>
Um, for the most part dogs can be trained well regardless of breeds....other than basenji's. They are totally nuts. People need to read up on breeds before they go out and buy and damn dog. I can't tell you how many Chows, Akitas, Shar-Peis, etc we put down at the vet I worked at because they bit the owner's kids. "He was so cute when he was little, but we just can't handle him now" was the usual comment....morons.:|
