I don't think anyone (at AT) knows yet the P5K Deluxe does with 4x1 GB, and the motherboard makes all the difference. We'd be happy to know, though.;)

Using 2 gig of pc2-8500 oc'ed pc2-9200 ddr2@1150.

I can oc my E6400 to 3.7(8X458)@1.57 volts with 2 gig at 5-5-5-15@2.3volts ddr2-1158 4:5.

Using 4 gig of pc2-8500 oc'ed pc2-9200 ddr2@1150.

I can oc my E6400 to 3.4(8X425)@1.57 volts with 2 gig at 5-5-5-15@2.3volts ddr2-1158 4:5.

All I can tell you is using 4 gig of ram feels faster and plays more responsive then the higher oc 2gig setup. Go with the 4gig you will never regret it. I'm mixing firestixs pc2-6400 and crucial ballistix pc2-8500. Hope this info helps you.

Get the ram now, prices won't go any lower, and will go up instead in a few months.

What OS are you using. I'd love to go to 4gig but my understanding is that XP32 bit and Vista 32bit are limited to 3gigs only, correct? And that basically there's no software for the 64 bit OS, correct?

I agree on the ram. I got 2x1 gb crucial ballistix pc2 8500 at newegg the other day for 89.99 after mir. today the best deal they have on 2x1gb pc2 8500 is geil for $97. They have been running those for a while and apparently haven't had many takers. Hmmm, I wonder why... by the way, the crucial mir is gone and they are now over $200!

I picked up 2 more GIG's of RAM, caught it on sale for 109 plus $25 rebate, is there anything that I should do prior to adding the sticks other than reverting back to stock speeds?

running 8 X 408 bIOS 0311 (FSB 1632)
4-4-4-12 Timings
Vcore 1.368
vdimm 2.1
Media Center XP 32 bit

Probably a good idea to back the clocks down a bit, at least so you can make sure your new modules aren't defective. That would save you a headache or two just in case you find a stability problem. I think you'll be fine tho.

Well I added my additional 2 GIG's of DD2 800 Geil RAM, and ran orthos for 6 hours at stock speeds. I loosened my timings to 5-5-5-15 as a precaution, I will try to run at my original OC of 408 X 8 after the holidays with my timings at 4-4-4-12.

My second set of Geil Ram was made only 7 weeks apart.
