I currently have a pair of 120GB drives in Raid 1 running windows 7. For various legacy reasons, I want to install another HD with windows xp pro, and use the BIOS F9 switch to choose which HD/configuration to boot when I turn on the computer.
I assume that in theory, I should be able to do this. But I am curious as to how windows XP will see the pair of 120GB drives in Raid, and whether that could cause problems at all. I don't plan to use the pair of 120GB drives when booting the XP drive. But, I would expect that the windows xp hardware manager will at least detect the pair of 120GB drives.
Actually, I am also kind of curious to know how the F9 Boot switch is going to see the pair of 120GB drives. Usually, it lists all of the drives in the system. Will it only show 1 120GB drive as opposed to both?
