How/where can I preorder a ps3?

I want to make sure I get a ps3 to sell for christmas time. Whats the best way/place I can make sure to get one?
 
Stand in line.

Seems like most online and store preorder slots (the ones taking preorders anyways) are already taken up.
 
No stores are currently taking preorders that I know of. Frankly, I suspect insanely bad shortages at launch which will mean preorder lists will be completely useless anyways.

Have one. I want a ps3 so that I can take advantage of the shortage (read: ebay), a double-edged sword as it seems I may not be able to get one for the same reason!

Hell ya! Wouldnt you sell on to get console price + $$$ on top of that!? I for one will use the extra to get a ps3 for myself and still probably have PLENTY left over for other stuff.

How is that taking advantage of people? They pay what they are willing to pay. Nobody is tricking them or forcing them to pay more than what they would pay at the store.

How is that taking advantage of people? They pay what they are willing to pay. Nobody is tricking them or forcing them to pay more than what they would pay at the store.

Actually, when the store is out of stock and the only place to get one is on ebay or elsewhere with prices SKYROCKETED, it's taking advantage of people. You're buying one, or many, for the sole purpose of selling them at a higher price, knowing that they'll pay out the nose for it. You're taking advantage of other people and are being a slimeball. 🙂

We'll agree to disagree. Again, nobody is forcing people to buy a game console. This isn't bottled water after a hurricane. It's a game console.

The 360 was hitting around $2000 at times. I think the PS3 can match that easy.
