How well would it work, and how reliable is the PSU? Does anyone know how effective the fans are? I want to keep this case for at least 2-3 years.

Norm

Ley me tell you because its an Aspire case and is NOT one of the big3....P180...Coolermaster or Lian case...

All the comments you will get will be directed iether to talk you out of that case or to tell you you should be getting a P180...lolol

Anyways at present I have a ASPIRE X Dreamer case....

I personally took my time and spent some money and figured out a nice workable airflow and I took my time cleaning up the case wiring.

With that said....it has all the same fans mine does except I just noticed there are 2 different pictures of the rear where I see a spot for 2 -80mm..then I see another pix for 1-120mm in the rear...

What I ended up doing was using a 120mm on the bottom front and attaching it to the case using zipties.....

With all those 80mm fans you will have some noise...so I would invest in a speed fan controller...

Other than that your case will last a good while...but if your like me...after about 6 months you will decide to get a P180 or a Coolermaster....

But I do want a side window and you can get both the cases I mentioned with a side window if you look around!!

Good Luck!!

Well, I'm not a serious caser.. or whatever it is. I just want something that's better than mine (generic Sony RS Case with one fan at the back)... and with a side panel. As long as it looks relatively good, works well, doesn't fail on me, and doesn't cost more than 50ish, I'm happy.

Then again I eat greasy foods... so death to the heart!!!

Anyway, I'm just used to a PSU just working; I use a 300w PSU that came with my Sony system, it's never failed me in any way, and it lasted me over 2 years.

Just another question... does the fan slot at the end of the case go for 120mm or 2x 80mm?? There are pictures of both.

The question is not if its a bottom feeder or not, it's if the thing will fall apart on me.

Other than that, do you know of any antec or inwin ones with a side case, at least 2 fans, and lights (okay, that's a secondary)? I can salvage my current 300w PSU if needed.

Aspire is junk, how many ways do you want me to say it?

The InWin I linked to includes a high quality built by Forton PSU. Antec also offers several cases with good quality PSU's for a good price.

I have that case. And, while it is garbage in thermal dynamics. I wouldn't totally agree with Operandi. Aspire and InWin rebadge upper tier company products. IIRC, the Inwin Fortron based PSU's are B grade from Fortron. Which is how they're able to sell it at a decent price.

For little more than $42, I would choose a Antec SLk3000B $25 with a Silverstone ST360 $34. Just my opinion

Aspire gets their PSU's from the same company that makes the X-Connect, probably some of the worst PSU's out there.

The reason the InWin is relatively cheap is because it ships with a relatively low power (300watt) PSU.

Not to argue. But, it looks like their power supplies are marketed higher than 300watts. 430 according to the link.

There is a 430 watt InWin but the case in my link is 300.

Okay, so the PSU is crap... I can always add in another one if needed (I can salvage my current one). Otherwise, what about the make of the case itself? Flimsy? Broken lights? etc?

The construction is cheap compared to upper brand models. It's really just all flash. Heats up pretty fast with today's processors. And very difficult to get the cable management to an estate of neatness as it is needed. Because the cables being poorly routed can cause the air from the intake and exhaust to divert from their destination. Which in turn, will have the case tempeture just rise.

I tried my best to get the management and air flow balanced. But, it's just too awkardly designed to deal with. No other choice but to retire it.
