Fear 2 isn't particularly demanding; it's about as demanding as the original. On my GTX285 I run the same settings in both games.

Having said that, the 8800 GT is quite slow by modern standards.

i played the demo on my x1950xt on mostly high settings, no AA, and that was good enough.

It will play it with no slowdowns what so ever at those settings.

8800GT/9800GT holds up much better than you might expect. Mine can still play COD5 and HL2 E:2 at 1920x1080 maxed out with good FPS. Even taking the info from that xbit link you should be able to bump the res from 1680 up to 1920, reduce settings from ultra/4x AA down to medium or medium high and still get at least 50fps avg
