I have a cheap, old, uncalibrated monitor and scored a 16, so I guess that's pretty good.. :)

  • Your score: 0

  • Age range: 30-39
  • Best score for your gender and age range: 0
  • Highest score for your gender and age range: 1520
Edit: I do have an Asus IPS monitor calibrated with a Spyder Pro 3 so my colors are spot on.

Same score/group on a Samsung P2770HD HDTVmonitor using the factory "Entertainment" preset.

I got a 0 on an uncalibrated old-school EGA monitor so I don't know what your guys' issues are. LOL @ using IPS vs TN as an excuse. Thanks for the diversion, back to Oregon Trail for me.

Joking aside, Radiolab did a really interesting radio show/podcast on color perception if you guys are interested:

The theories about some humans have extra cones for color perception and the word for blue being missing from historical texts was pretty interesting to me.

I think it's more about the brightness/contrast settings than color accuracy. Uncalibrated should still show the hue difference. In my case, my room is in the middle of the building and few lamps, so I turn down the contrast/brightness so my eyes don't burn... 50 shades of grey all look black for me.

This depends hugely on how well your monitor is calibrated. With many having errors above 10 colour shades much of the problem is going to be the monitor. If you have an IPS monitor that is calibrated then that person will fair enormously better than someone with a TN monitor and especially a typical TN monitor that is very poorly calibrated. This difference unfortunately will invalidate all the results.

I got 0 on a POS uncalibrated TN monitor. Not even a good TN monitor. We're talking scraping the bottom of the barrel here.

28 on my probably too bright TN Asus monitor. Better than I thought, I am supposedly color blind in the red/green area.
