Most people around the world are pretty bad when it comes to knowing the stats behind the news. Ipsos surveyed people in 33 countries around the world on issues ranging from immigration to obesity - how does your knowledge compare to theirs?

I know enough that programmers could at least auto populate the drop down with your country based on IP.

I got ranked 1 doing the US. But I surely missed some guesses by a large margin. Tried Canada, got ranked 1 there also, but seeing the right US answers helped out a lot.

I got 1 in US, most of mine were at least closer than what "the US" guessed about itself. It's a really weird scoring metric.

I'm Canadian and scored a 1 on Canada. Did not try other countries. I did get big errors on some items, but apparently other Canadians scored worse.

I guessed ~33% in the US for # of Obese people.

I think the issue is that "obese" isn't usually defined by anything other than weight vs. height factor. You could be skinny as fuck and full of muscle weight and by definition they would toss you in the obese category.

I just took a rough stab at how many fatties I see on the plane. There's about a 1/3 chance that a fattie will sit next to you 😀

I ranked 4.

Of course, but I wouldn't call the stats on the number of foreigners living here, religious affiliation, distribution of wealth, obesity rates, etc. esoteric. If someone totally bombs that quiz they're probably not well in touch with reality, especially with how much those topics have been talked about in the election cycle we're in.
