How Weird!!!! AIM / AOL rant!

My brother in Law used an ID a long time back on AIM (when they were in India - something from 1998 or so. He later abandoned it for another id that he uses to this date.

Anyway that user id was on my system. All of a sudden it lights up.. and I was like WTF!

So I IM the guy asking who he was, and he asks the same question too...

Then I track down an old email and realise that it used to be my brother in law's AIM, since he stopped using it in a long time, AOL sent it back to the available list. AIM can be upgraded to AOL with the same user id, so I guess if you dont use your AIM you loose that ID.

Yeah, if it's inactive for like 6 months, someone else can register it. That's how I got one of mine.
