1. Which model do you own?

2. Do you like this processor?

3. If you overclocked it, how far did you go and still remain stable?

4. How high could you go before you had to adjust the vcore?

Question 4 if for those who already have or are building budget PCs using economy boards with budget chipsets that don't have a vcore adjustment feature in their bios.

I hope to find out which older or budget motherboards the semprons marriage best to. For example, there's the SFF Biostar 210V with the KM400A chipset which makes a great little pc, but has neither a vcore mod nor a multiplier mod in it's bios. I'm betting there's quite a few good budget boards the sempron will match-up with.

I love it. I got the $99 box from Fry's.

It's a 2200+ at 1.53GHz Sempron. I was able to overclock it up to 2.0 GHz using the stock OEM Heatsink.

I had a 2.1+ Athlon XP before so I'm not a power user.

I added a GB of XMS Corsair and put in my 9800 pro. I will see how well it runs HL2.

1. 2800
2. Yes, I am pleased with it. My 2400xp died, this one performs better.
3. 2.160 ghz
4. Stock voltage, my m/b doesn't let me increase cpu voltage.

I am satisfied with my 2800 sempron, it runs at a higher fsb than my old 2400xp, and at a higher clock
rate. In sandra cpu benchmarks it benches the same as a 3000xp (integer and floating point) -I know it will perform lower than a 3000xp because of the reduced level 2 cache. I would put it's performance somewhere around a 2700-2800xp. at stock around a 2600xp.

edit: gaming is great, hl2, doom3,ut2004, all run better than before

I dont own one, but I built one for a friend, it was decent, nothing to write home about in terms of performance, but definately more than what was needed for home office use

I have a Sempron 2400+ 1.667 ghz. I run it at 10x200 for 2.0 ghz. I probably could go higher if my crappy board allowed it. I am very pleased with it for what I paid!

I dont own one but did build one for someone, I never expected it to be as good as it was. Although I still would never have one in my rig, too value oriented, I bought corsair xms ram just cause it was the most expensive i could find( hehe j/k)

I've bought two. A 2200 and a 2400. I think I paid about $49 and $56 respectively for the two. Nothing, but good things to report. The 2200 easily o/c's at 9x200FSB. The 2400 like wise, easily o/c's at 10x200FSB. Both at default voltages with nothing special to do other than setting the FSB speed in the BIOS. Every bit as fast as the original AthlonXP's in which they used to be labeled.
