How was the movie Serenity?

My friends don't wanna watch it cause it looks stupid. I just got it in on HD from BBO. We want to have a movie night but can't decide between that, matrix trilogy, alien trilogy or LOTR trilogy ( I really don't want to watch this again).

Entertaining, not good or great, but fun enough. Not as good as the series itself, which I found to be fun but nothing special.

Great movie. I really recommend getting the DVD of Firefly and watching all the episodes first though. Some of the scenes won't have as much impact if you haven't seen the TV show. Though, its still a great standalone movie.

Hmm, yeah, I was about to ask if there was anything else I should watch before watching the movie. I know that this was based off a series but I haven't seen anything.

As a standalone movie it is pretty decent, as a conclusion to a series it is awsome (very, very few series ever get to have a conclusion, they usually are just pulled off the air).

It was great. Sounds great on surround sound too. The series (Firefly) was great too. If you like a silly sense of humor, you'll like this movie. It was done by the same guy who did Buffy the Vampire Slayer series (Joss Whedon).

If you are a fan of the show, you have to see it. I saw the 13 eps then didn't see the movie till 6 months later. I want more firefly

Fantastic, but you have to see the series first! I thought for the longest time it was a stupid series, ie cowboys in space, sounds so stupid, but was surprised when i actually started watching it. It's funny, but not campy like Andromeda.

It's dumb in a good way Surprisingly I liked it, and started watching the TV show. The TV show is a little lame with the accents and whatnot, but for some reason I keep watching it...lol

Yep. You can tell it was a rush job, but still, it was very nicely done. He was able to tie most of the loose ends in a single movie, and still make it very entertaining.
